KOWA operates from our headquarters in Tokyo and our local offices in Santo Domingo and Panama city, pursuing business opportunities in Caribbean, Central and South America.
Since our establishment in 1982, we have achieved sure and steady business development.

Company History

January 1982	Kowa Tsusho Co., Ltd. founded in January 1982 with capital of 10 million yen. Takaharu Sakashita becomes representative director.
April 1982	Begins exporting tires, batteries, and other automotive parts to Central America and Caribbean.
June 1982	Isamu Ninomiya becomes co-representative director.
September 1982	Begins exporting automobiles to Central America and the Caribbean.
July 1982	Capital increased to 30 million yen.
October 1982	Kunihiko Uchida becomes co-representative director.
April 1984	Opens a local office in the Donimican Republic.
March 1985	Begins intermediary trade, exporting automobile tires and other products from Tａｉｗａｎ to Central America and the caribbean.
April 1986	Junji Kanda becomes co-representative director.
july 1986	Establishes overseas affiliate in Taipei, Taiwan.
March 1988	Junji Kanda becomes president of Taipei-based affiliate.
January 1989	Junji Kanda purchases all shares of Taipeo-based affiliate.
November 1991	Begins intermediary trade exporting tires, batteries, and other products from Southeast Asia to Central America and the Caribbean.
October 1998	Begins intermediary trade exporting Chinese made tires ｔｏ Central America and the Caribbean.
January 1999	The operations maneged by each of the co-representative directors are spun off as separate companies.
March 2000	Kowa Tsusho Co., Ltd. establishd in present form with new capital of 10million yen. Managing director :Takaharu Sakashita. The company continues the business of trading in tires, batteries, motorcycles, automobiles, generators, and other products. Continues the operation of the existing office in the Dominican Republic.
May 2002	Increases capital to 20 million yen.
September 2004	Moves company headquarters to Koami-cho, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
April 2012	Opens a local office in the Republic of Panama.
March 2013	Increases capital to 50 million yen.
March 2017	Moves company headquarters to Shinkawa, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
April 2020	Takuma Sakashita becomes managing director.
